I need to make a design for the tank. Modeling from foil or some material. I do not want to use foam or polystyrene. Can you advise? I thought I was just making it out of do my memory, but I must have to more prepare the course for a little bit more. I see it will be more complicated. Do we have Any advice for approximate designing? I just need to prepare indicate that shape.

My creative power will be working next after. :)

Jeroslav, I'd consider a Bert Buck (named after the inventor Ken Burt RIP). Some photos in post. Scroll down to post # 26

Jaroslav, I'm currently making a tank for a Ducati using a wireframe. I'm using 5.0mm bright steel rod.

I had to go out to my shop to see if one of my wireform bucks was missing.

I'll try something. I was thinking of some wire mesh or foil. I thought it would be easier. Work and work.

Richard. Divide the tank through the bulkheads so that the shock wave does not turn motorbike in the curve.

Cheers Jaroslav - that is the plan to have a baffle to stop fuel sloshing around. I'll post some pictures when I make the lower part of the tank.

Looking forward to seeing your progress.

What I did work one day, I destroyed another day. I underestimated the preparation and course of the curves. I will send way.:confused:

Hi,

I'm interested in seeing your tank for the Ducati. I have a 1994 Ducati 900 SS that I have modified quiet a bit, I would like to see how the tank design fits with the rest of the bike style.

Bill

Cheers Bill - It's actually not my bike, but a (free) project for a friend of a friend that I've agreed to take on for the experience and as a lead up to a full set of alloy panels for my BMW 320 Group 5 build. Customer's plan is to use mid level Conti mufflers and a full fairing together with a f/glass seat unit from Airtech. They had a glass Imola tank outer shell from Airtech that they wanted me to use, but it was too long for the trellis frame and completely different side to side. Planning on doing a post shortly with the process and there will be some shots of the tank on the bike. Pinched some of your ideas from the F-86 tank - thanks :)

Solid Worx from Paper.

I took the paper and made the model. The course of the shaping option is clearer. What will be the result? That's really a question. I used Solid Worx from Paper.
