Jaguar E type repair sections

After over 3 years of being on this site, this is my first metal shaping thread:D

I bought a small cast English wheel (36") about a year ago and this is the first time that I have actually used it to shape a panel that I am going to use!

Although there are lots of repair panels available for the E type where's the fun in that?

I spent a month last year with Geoff Moss which gave me the confidence to tackle these parts.

That and countless hours watching David Gardiners video and reading his and post by others on this site has helped no end. Thanks to all!!!http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0a03020d.jpg[/IMG][IMG][/IMG]http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/...psc373eb55.jpg

Looks really good for a first attempt!. I would have cut the panel closer to the finished shape before wheeling just because the less area you have to wheel the less work it is. All wheeling is good practice however and the final job looks good I bet you have a great sense of achievement.

Looks real nice! Cool car too!

Before welding the outer panel on, it would be advisable to create some access to the back of the weld, usually done by removing the inner arch, which is often rotten anyway.

Really nice work, and I'm not surprised you gained confidence and skill so quickly after spending a week with Geoff Moss. MPH Motor Panels is worth the trip to Liskeard.

Those parts you fabbed look great. It will definitely be a better job than the previous hack.;)

Your work looks great. You are really encouraging me as I look at what needs doing on my Sunbeam and worry about whether I can really do it!
