Is this what I think it is?

I read the thread about Red Twiet's passing. It is sad when anybody passes. I had never heard of him, so I followed the link to the other thread suggested in post #3, and that in turn led to a blog where there are photos of some of Mr. Twiet's old photos.

This one caught my eye:

(The thumb is not mine, it is in the blog post.)

After studying it, it looks like some sort of dome roller, with a stack of different radii lower dies to the left on the bench. They have what look like indexing slots, I think I see one to the right on the die that's under the upper wheel or anvil.

Anyone have more info on this?

I believe that is called a Roll-a-ball. They used it to make corners for Streamline campers. There is more information in Tim Bartons book. I believe that the one Red used is in Colorado Springs at Westpac. When I talked with them it was in storage.

Thanks, Randy. Tim Barton's books are on my lottery win wish list.

There is also some photos and info on them in the Navy sheet metal books set printed during WW2. I would have to look through my set to see which one its in. The set is 29 books. They can be found on ebay for about 5 to 8 dollars each.
