I've got all these tools, now what?!
Hi, Sterling in Flagstaff, Az here. I've been working on different projects, from my Firebird that I'm trying to go faster than 200 mph at Bonneville with, to a 32 Ford 5 window that needs everything from floors to a new firewall! The easy part has been acquiring all the tools, from a bead roller, sheet metal brake, welders, English wheel, etc. Now I just need to learn more than how to pinch my fingers! I'm hoping this site will get me going in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

Take a look at this link, http://allmetalshaping.com/showthread.php?t=2926
You need to learn how metal moves when you apply pressure to it. As said earlier there is a lot of good information on this site. You would be ahead if you took some time to read a lot of the post on the site. If you don't understand how metal moves the machines will allow you to make more scrap faster. |
Thanks Guys, I know it's a learned skill, I just hope I have the patience and work ethic to keep at it to learn what I need. I've got a 32 Ford 5 window that needs to be un-channeled, floors, and rear quarters. Want to do it right, but can't afford to pay someone. So it's up to me!
