Slicer for Fusion360 (for making buck sections)
For those of you making bucks from your 3D CAD models -- this Autodesk video might be of interest to you. (later part of video especially) Price = free. I've used the Fusion 360 CAD/CAM for over two years without much issue aside from cloud-based connectivity issues.

Slick!!!
I am a Fusion 360 user. Yes it is free for individuals. This add on program looks to be a good solution fo building a buck after the shape is developed in Fusion 360. Many good video tutorials on youtube. |
Thanks, Mark and Richard for the Fusion 360 info.
I have been looking for a good, truly free cad/cam. After reading your posts, I spent this morning researching 360. It appears to be a robust enough program for my needs, and there are plenty of tutorials out there. From the tutorials, it looks like it models somewhat similarly to SolidWorks, which I have enjoyed for free as a community college student as long as I was currently enrolled in a SW class. There is a deeply discounted student version of SW available to me as a student, but it's still not free, and times out. |
Thanks for the link. Just recently started playing with Fusion 360. It has a 30 day trial is what I found, where is this free version or is this 30 day trial it?
Is it possible to use sheet metal as the buck instead of plywood? or is that a bad idea? Thanks |
