A shout out to the Tin Man

During his recent visit to the Redneck Roundup last week, I was continually amazed at the vast amount of knowledge and experience that Kent White (aka The Tin Man) has accumulated, and to the degree that he was willing to share with the metal shapers in attendance. As a result of his continuous display of knowledge replete with accompanying details, I accumulated a long mental list of thoughts that I wanted to follow up on in the near future, and I started by taking what I thought was going to be a quick glance at Kent's website, and was very impressed with all the info that was available.

What I found in addition to items that were available for sale was a treasure trove of information regarding metal shaping and joining that was most impressive, and as an administrator of this Allmetalshaping website, I feel compelled to make this source of research material available to all that visit here. At the risk of seeming to be a commercial, I want to enlighten as many folks as I can about the vast amount of knowledge that is available at Kents website. For example:

Forming machines: https://www.tinmantech.com/products/forming-machines/

Hand Tools: https://www.tinmantech.com/products/hand-tools/

Metalworking Articles: https://www.tinmantech.com/education/articles/

There is MUCH more! It is indeed a treasure trove of metal shaping and joining information. Help yourself to all this free information. Thank you Kent.

And now "the rest of the story"

I recall an incident from the first workshop I attended. I was standing in front of Kent while he was performing a welding demo when, without looking, he called out to an attendee, back in the corner, asking him what was he doing wrong, This in a busy shop with 7 others performing the same tasks.

His powers of perception and concentration are phenomenal!

Onward and upward.

Thank you very much Will. Very kind of you to mention.
I try to put up as much as I can so that people can see how this metal stuff works, and I figure a good search should bring up the right topic.

Anyway, glad to help,

I have found Kent to be an exultant source of knowledge. I have many tape, DVD's and some tools and the on I like the best is my power hammer and the assortment of hammers and bucks I have for it. Keep on Keeping on Kent. Fred26t

Workshops

I’ve had the good fortune of attending a few of Kent’s workshops, but the one I value the most was held at his shop. Kent has a couple rooms for rent if you are taking a class at his place, and I HIGHLY recommend taking advantage of the accommodations. Being there allows you to soak in additional information.

Agree with all the positive comments above too.
