I am going to go with the boys opn the lockjaws. I even gave them the tuff test with the lower jaw clamped in a vice with a piece of 1.5 inch square tubing clamped in the lockjaws and you cant twist...

What filler?
Just a guess on the filler but i would think they would have cut strips of the base metal so after they welded er all up that the welds would be invisible after finishing.
