I think I'd make a hammer form from steel rod....

I think I'd make a hammer form from steel rod. From the picture it looks like the rod would have to be around 25mm diameter, give or take so it will require heat to bend around the small end radii....

Make sure you clamp a chill block, either copper or aluminum to the shiny side opposite each weld to prevent oxidation on that surface. Tin Man also sells a pasty goo that does the same thing.
