AC, I watched that with great curiosity, the episode you refer to was about the Ulfberht steel. Very interesting metal work. Both of these episodes were great. The metal work during that time period was incredible.
I was really impressed with the bluing of the armor after the gold inlays. Didn't know that was possible.
