Default New kraut aboard

Hi all,

finally i also found this nice forum.
My name is jens and i am from Germany. I did an apprenticeship as a blacksmith several years ago and worked as a TIG welder for a custombikebuilder over here for about a year.
After a disc prolapse i am now learning how to use Solid Works and other CAD software and hoping to get a job after that.
I only do metalshaping as a hobby now.
Many of you are doing great work and i´m happy to learn a lot from this.

jens

Welcome to the site Jens, I hope your back is recovered enough that you are not in pain, back pain is not a lot of fun. I hurt mine a few years ago, It got better eventually (after a year or so) but it was a nightmare at the time.

Hi David,

I don´t have any pain in my back anymore but it´s hard, not to be able to work with metal all day.
CAD is a nice tool but i really miss the dirt and smell from forging and welding a lot.

I´ll have to build a powerhammer and a thumbnail machine to be able to shape some metal. My Doc said : " Your shoulder has the age of 65" which isn´t funny as i am 33.

Well I´m quite happy that i found this site.
Thank you all.

jens
