Swapping out welding torches on O/A
So, I own my tanks and a nice little Meco Midget torch and lightweight hoses for welding tubing and sheet metal.
Is there a quicker and easier way to swap torches when I want to use a rosebud, cutting or larger welding torch? Currently I disconnect the lightweight hose and attach the regular hose to a regular size torch. I'm figuring maybe someone here has a neato idea for doing this quickly and safely. Thanks!

Thanks Shawn ...
Drew, http://www.tinmantech.com/products/w...k-connects.php They can be hooked up in 3 ways - on the regs, in between hoses, at the torch. Half of the fitting set is also available.

Quick connects
I have the big part of the quick connect on one side of Y valves on the regulators. My favorite torch is hard connected to one side of the Y so it is always handy. I then have half dozen other torches with the small part of the quick connect I can swap out. It works good for me.

My regular size hose is much longer than I need, so I am thinking I will reduce the size of that hose, and rig a hose to hose to some regular size hose as well as the small hose. That would keep the hose length down to a manageable size and keep the torch from becoming "clunky". Am I on the right track? Drew

So, it looks like I'd just need a full set of quick disconnects and then a 1/2 set for the small hoses. Cool. The prices aren't horrible for the convenience. When I get home and organize my shop, my plan is to rationalize flow and develop systems for everything. QD's and automatic starting for O/A torches are part of that.

I try to work this stuff out so other craftsmen have a decent chance at the first go. The quick disconnects are more useful when you only buy a set and a half - and don't have to toss the other unused half set in the back of a drawer ....
