Default Tech article/tutorial award project.

Hello all.

I sent a pm to Kerry, and Johnny about this hoping I might get a response from one of them with a thumbs up.

I offered to make some 1st, 2nd, 3rd place awards for a group voted contest.

The prize is not much, but my attempt to try and get more posts on Metal Shaping TECH..

Here is the initial prize.

I have started messing with some of the old Badge dies I got from late 1800-early 1900's

Alot of them need work, but I am going thru them and doing test trials. I am working on a first place Gold (brass/copper combo), second place Bronze (Brass, bronze or copper), and third place silver (pewter, aluminum, and or stainless).

All three will have a winners name (up to say 8 letters, or the letters will be too hard to read). The name All Metal Shaping, and your choice of soldered attachment device (Ill post options).

Well here are a couple (rough) samples. Please don't give me too much grief on the Hand struck letters. I will probably make an ALL METAL SHAPING die if this continues but I need practice on my hand lettering, and will make them better when the finals are done.

THis one is REAL rough, but tried a color fill. It was the first one, but wanted to post anyway.

I do not have any RULES other than it be metal shaping related (pattern making, hammering tech, embossing tech, tool idea for us all to use, wheel tech etc.), as thorough as possible and please if possible Have LOTS of pictures.

So Ill start making these for the first month.

I hope we get some takers.

All we need for winners are (3) three people (entries), but the more the better for all of us.

So what do you think All?

Bill

Thanks alot Steve!

I started making one for my/our friend Johnny Arial today.

When doing the badges as just a stamping, its not much work really, mostly setup.

But when making them with multiple metals I am learning and it takes a bit of time.

Ill post Johns when I get further along with it. Working on a surprise fountain for the misses today.

Anyway.

If anyone is interested, just submit something this month in regards to this thread.

I have blanked a few different styles and will be making them over the next month.

Have a great day.

Bill
