Yesterday afternoon was spent with dad poking at the LH door frame, sutting, slicing, getting the frame to fit. A little trdious, hate to cut too much. This is where the donor doors come in handy, eliminates a couple of seams. One tip, make certian that the doors are aligned as best as they will fit before cutting anything. If they arent, that will really give you problems here. These doors dont fit good from the factory at all, so do the best you can.

There was some misalignment in the rear windo when the frame was bench welded, but some time was spent on it to get it straight again, and to get it to flow with the back corner of the roof. This was a great lesson in panel arrangment when welding, everything has to flow with the natrual curve of the truck. It can be a pain in the azz sometimes, but this worked out well.

John had to head back home, but he feels more comfortable attempting a chop he has been asked to do on an earlier F1.

Ben and dad went to horror freight last night, god only knows what they got, I guess I will find out soon...

Yesterday afternoons pics, not much to show for the hours put in...

Hi Marty.

Brilliant, I like a lot, pity shell like that cost a bomb over here, tell me being new around here what happens about the glass, sorry might be a stupid question to some but are there companies that will make tailor made window glass.

Feel a bit of a but Ive a couple of ideas that go flat when it comes to glass.

Thanks for posting the thread, looks like your a busy guy.

I talked with Tommy, my glass guy yesterday and asked him how he does it, he said he scores a small slice then breaks it off. Had no problems on the last one, just time consuming. We got dads vent windows back for his 53, ill take pics of them and compare them to an original.

Yesterdays work was basically pictureless, not much to see yet, spent alot of tme welding planishing and getting the curves to flow with one another. Dennis was having fun mig welding the thin metal o the inside of the doors, and made a small patch to get the flow right on the lines inside the door jamb. Denis is optinf for the one piece side glass so he wont have the azz ache of chopping the vent windows.

Lets see where today brings us....

Marty

Marty, think you got a real deal, that kit is marked wrong. Not only is that kit for the top but it also has the necessary filler panels for other areas. I was going to report this to the CEO so he can bill you properly for the kit but I think I will just let is slide this time.

I think that's one of the floor pans they sell actually. Those are 1/3 the price of the roof kit. I'd say you got taken.

Well, y'all were right, it was mislabeled, it was a firewall kit for a 84 escort, but we will make do with what we have.
