My 26/7 build - HAND MADE BODY
I have been saying for a while that I would post the build of my 26/7 on here.
I have been into hot rods since my teens and I have been involved in building a few for my friends over the years. I always wanted a 26/7 T on a '32 frame. I started to build mine on several occasions but I could never manage the time or money and ended up selling my last project about ten years ago because I could not see it ever getting finished. Its not that easy to build a hot rod here in the UK, we dont have the availability of parts that there is in the USA. Well ten years on and more than thirty years since I first wanted to build one and I still have an interest in hot rods. My kids are now almost grown the mortgage does not seem so bad. A friend who was actually younger than me died and this made me think that if I was ever going to do it, now was the time. With any project it is best to have a deadline so I decided to get it done for my youngest daughters prom which is at the end of June this year. From when I started I had a year almost to the day. David Thats the story so far so here is the build...

Here is what I started with. Although I sold everything else I kept the 32 frame rails I had for many years.
I fished them out of storage and began looking for the rest of the car. I gathered several parts and then found a complete donor car. I built a chassis table because I had left mine at a previous workshop because of lack of room when I moved. This may seem of off topic but its actually not and you will see why later. David

David,
I can't wait to see what you do, I will be following this story to the end. I just received your video a week ago and it has already helped me with a cab corner repair job I am doing, thanx for such a great video. Jaysin

I too am looking forward to the build.
I don't think the frame table is off topic. Without a true and straight frame, you can't get a true and straight body. It's all part of the build.
