Default thumbnail dies

not sure if this has been covered or not but, has anybody have any experience with the longevity of hard plastic thumbnail dies on 1mm steel or should it just be steel dies?

Neil,
Our plastic thumbnail dies were designed for use on aluminum and have slightly different geometry than our tool steel dies. They will shrink steel but won't last nearly as long as they do on aluminum panels. With careful deburring of the edges of the panels they will last longer and this applies to steel as well as aluminum. Rough edges will cause premature wear even on tool steel dies.
I guess to answer your question it is a yes but!

thank you Stan, having no experience with this type of shrinking method I guess it was kind of a rookie question in a kind of specialised area.

thanks again
