Nice Jim! Could you tell me. The bumper irons are they mild steel or made of spring steel.

Bumper irons
The irons are hot rolled steel. The frame on the rear, ends 2 1/2ft from the back of the body so I had to fabricate an inner structure in 10 gauge hot roll to tie to the wooden structural wood. If the car gets hit it won't pass the crash test. I doubt the car will ever be run again on the road as its value would prohibit it. That is why I am building replicas.

Fabrication of interior trim, latches, hardware, woodwork and dash
As mentioned above this car was basically a shell with a new paint job on it when it arrived at my shop. The owner spent over $100,000 on the restoration work done and when the shop went bankrupt all of the parts to the car went missing. While making the missing parts it became apparent that the car was painted directly over the solid surface rust shown on photos when he purchased the car therefore many of the trim parts were fabricated and fitted to the old body and paint repairs. When the car was stripped and the metal cleaned these parts had to be altered so that is why some of the photos show paint and some bare metal or primer.

Dash and interior wood
The dash was done in burl walnut and the door and dash trim in straight walnut.

All the hours spent thinking about, designing, and fabricating parts, tools and jigs and then to realise that some of it will never be seen, or just glanced at by the ignorant and dismissed instantly.
What a fantastic restoration! Thank you so much for posting Jim!

Man alive, Jim. If I had known you were setting up shop to do this work in TN, I never would have left to go back to cut stone.... Seriously. I would have just moved a little southwest and stayed in that great state if I could have been a fly or more on your wall.
Thanks again for posting.
