Thank you for your input Ken, it is well received and believe me I take notice of every thing that I am told about this matter. I have not yet got to test the water so your comments will keep me looking for a while yet. If I can scan and put up what was sent from St Jude you may like to have a look at their info, I will try in a couple of days when I have some time to work on it.

I'm curious to hear any updates on this subject.
Today, I got an Inspire sleep apnea implant, that has similar workings to a pacemaker. SOMEHOW, after several consults, an initial exploratory procedure to confirm the effectiveness of the device with my mode of apnea, and a few months of getting it all approved through the VA, it only finally came up in the pre-op discussion with the surgeon that EMI (like say, welding) would be of significant concern with this device. He did manage to tell me on the first visit that any future SCUBA trips would be limited to ~30ft depth. Last edited by Scoob; 02-06-2024 at 07:29 PM. |

Lots of anecdotes and here say from helpful associates. Fact is it may be helpful or may be worthless or life-threatening information. Every supplier of medical electronics has a consumer help line. They should be a trusted source of information about YOUR situation.
Your doctor should be interested in getting you in touch with experts.
