Default Help us out all you photo posters

A lot of you post photos as attachments. Have you ever wondered why all you see is Attachment 878767 below your posts but no photo....and then sometime later, the photos magically appear in your post?

They show up because one of the admins edits the thread and makes a very simple change. Please help us out.

There are two situations, a single photo and multiple photos:

MULTIPLE PHOTOS

All you need to do is after you have finished typing and using the paperclip to attach all the photos you want is to do this:

1- Position your cursor where you want all the photos to show...normally at the end of the post.

2- Click on the paper clip again. you will see a list of your attachments and at the very bottom "Insert all". Click on insert all and it will put them IN your post and when you hit preview or save, they will show up.

SINGLE PHOTO

All you need to do is after you have finished typing and using the paperclip to attach all the photos you want is to do this:

1- Position your cursor where you want all the photo to show...normally at the end of the post or somewhere in the middle of the text.

2- Click on the paper clip again. you will see the internal file name of the photo you attached. Click on that file name and it will position the photo IN your post and when you hit preview or save, they will show up.

If you forget, you can do the same thing by editing your post, Note that you have to be in the advanced editor to do this.

Thanks

Just Checking.

Oh crud.... so that is the trick to get them to attach. I had only been uploading.... and later they magically appeared. Must remember paper clip!

Thank you!

you can also click "preview post" and see what your post will look like.

Also, multiple spaces between text and photos really help differentiate what photos you see and what you are reading. for example, two line spaces between a photo and relevant text, and three or four spaces between that and your next photo. It tells a much better story when it is easy to read.

Yep, you guys are getting it. What I do is attach all my photos and then go back and write in the text that surrounds them. You have to hit preview frequently so you don't loose track of where you are but it really makes the photos flow with the text.

WOW that is certainly easier than posting to my album. You should make this post a sticky.
