Default Manual for any circle and ring shear

I have three circle and ring shears Pexsto , Niagara , and a May Tool all have provision to move pivot point both for smaller / larger and forward and backwards in relation to cutter wheels . My question is there a way to determine how set this adjustment with out a lot of trial and error . It seems like it might possibly be different for different diameters. When set far back it pulls ,and to far forward it pushes the stock , and having experiment eats $tock.
Niagara is model 11 ? thickness capacity
Pexsto ? " "
May Tool 52" 3/16" steel 10 ga. stainless
All these have a pivot point for the fork the circle pivots on , so I believe setup should be similar. So please any insight Thanks Ken
