Default Beating bag

I have some leather and are going to make a few beating bags.
I just wonder the best way to close the hole for sand filling ?

I used saddle-stitch on mine, with about an inch to go I put a funnel in the hole and poured the dry sand in then completed the stitching.

Material was old and new welders' aprons,

Cheers Charlie

I have used velcro and epoxy and both work great for me.
