When I have bent "J" trim, I made a die to hold the flat leg of the trim and fill the inside of the "J", then slowly bent the trim around the die while tapping the trim with a plastic mattel.

The die was just a piece of delron turned in the lathe so there was a groove for the flat, then another groove to capture the "J". The diameter of the die was the radius that I needed. I did not anneal the material, as it had a brushed finish. I worked it in T-6 condition.
