Default Hello from Michigan

Hello,

My name is Joe Champagne. I'm 27 and I'm very interested in metal working/fabricating. I have done a fair amount of fabrication work including tube bending for roll cages etc but I really would like to learn about metal shaping. Basically trying to learn everything I can about metal working of any kind. I found this site when looking for tips on where to start on forming aluminum for a custom gas tank for my motorcycle project. I do own a few nice fab tools and welders, but I know nothing about metal shaping or what tools are required. I look forward to learning about the tools and processes on here. I live in grand haven, Michigan which is on the west side of the state.

Welcome Joe. I host the Michigan Metalshapers Meet at my shop. Sorry you didn't find this site sooner. We are totally full of attendees both days this year. We hold the meet in late April and it's great for new guys and veteran metalshapers both. Enjoy this site. Plenty to learn here.

Joe, I build custom racecars and streetrods full time. Started in 1981 in Grand Rapids. Raced some in the 70's myself Drag racing. Now do all kinds of stuff. Even into land speed racing. Been out to Bonneville a couple times and will be out to speed week again in Aug. Always glad to give a tour of the shop. Just call ahead 269-948-9474 9-6 M-F. Open Sat too until the weather gets good and I fire up one of my street rods and cruise! Check out my website for more info. Precision Guesswork Racecars.com

Joe, Sorry but my website is currently getting some maintenance done. Still have a facebook page going with some videos of race action from some past projects and other contact info. Hope you can check us out some time!
