Default Keeping aluminum polished,

I have aluminum bumpers and bumper horns that i would like
to polish. Since they are from a motorhome they will live
outside all the time.

The bumpers are not too bad for being 32 years old;

It will probably need polishing after I straighten it.

The bumper horns are worse.

I think that I know how to polish them given all the information
here but is there any coating or paint that I can use to keep them
polished.

It seems that clear paint works well for a while but when it
starts to break down it looks worse that no coating. It gets
splotchy as some areas break down before others.

What is the best thing to do?

Only good process I know of is to polis them regularly!

Then apply a good coat of wax to keep the elements at bay.

Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish works pretty good. I think it leaves a wax that protects it from the elements. This has been outside for about a year and a half and it still looks pretty good.

I used Mothers products to maintain my bare aluminum airplane.

Mother's Carnuba Wax doesnt' have any of the imbedded abrasives that damage the shine of a good polishing effort.

SharkHide really works. We coated the a arms on a daily driven Volvo about two years ago as an experiment. They still look pretty good. That's saying something for being driven in Indiana.
