Default Hello from Brisbane, Australia

Hello, new to metal shaping. Have been in IT for 10 years prior to making a major career change and becoming an adult apprentice as a Fitter & Turner. Not sure what you guys call it.

Bit of a difference from my old job, but getting to make stuff out of steel, etc... is so rewarding I only wish I had made the change sooner.

This is my first project ever, I seem to be taking forever with it. I suppose I'm a little scared to jump right in and have a go in case I screw it up.

Have also just bought a Bead Roller and started to modify/strengthen it.

Cheers
Ben

Default Hello

Ben, what a cool first project. Give it a go you will love it. Nice think about steel is that if it does not work out the first time you can always do it again. Good Luck,
Rondo

Ben, Welcome, glad to see you posting. Your project looks like a good one. Don't worry about making a mistake that is the way you learn. The only thing that you can be sure of when you first start out shaping metal is that you are going to make some scrap. I still make lots of scrap but it is how you learn different techniques improve your skills. Keep us posted on the progress of you project.
