Default Wheeling Machine and Planishing Hammer

Here the new two Machine in one, 5 minutes only to change over.
The finish on the panel? Well I can not tell the difference, the hammer is very good for doing larger panels by one operator, simply because the panel is self supported on the post

Pete,
What did you use as the hammer for your build?

This machine and several of Peter's wheeling machines will be on display at Oblong this year for viewing and testing. This machine is designed to use the tried, tested and true Kent White air motor #3. Kent has done a great job in developing this style air motor and has developed a very nice method of adding circular grip rings that allow this style of air motor to more easily maintain its vertical position and thus repeatability, accuracy and speed in forming or smoothing panels, a trademark of Peter's cast iron wheeling machine. The availability of additional air motors from the Tinman makes this offering even more appealing.

Peter- are any modifications to the cast iron frame required to help keep the upper motor mount & motor plumb or does it simply bolt into the stub axle receiving hole?

Thumbs up

That looks nice... I'd rather have two separate ones though... How much is the machine going for pricewise? Thanks

Cliffrod
The only modifications on the casting is a 8 mm hole with a dowel inserted + a tread in the lower hole where the wheel shaft is.... that is done with a jig in order to keep the unit plumb which I am supplying with the hammer set up for the already existing frames, all the future frames will have the set up in them ready to fit the hammer unit. The same top shaft is used and same upper bolt
I design and made the unit in such way that it's easy to change over, as a matter of fact you can change the unit over in less than 5 minutes
By using a N 4 or 5 air motor you can really shape some thick metal, please ask Mr Kent White for advise, or we can supply from OZ a modified jack hammer as air motor unit
I will try to see if I can post some pics

Peter we are all ready shipping the wheeling machine to the US for $3500 US, to save weight and $ we send them without top wheel and lower anvils but you can buy the top wheel and lower anvils from Hossier profiles.
Another frame with hammer unit holder, post, complete ready to use with 5 lower, dies, 7 hammer heads air lines, air filters ,oilers , valves etc less air motor ( that can be purchased from Kent White) is $4500 US. includes shipping. A bit less if the air fittings and lines etc are purchased in the US and less again if only one frame is used

Thanks, Peter. Figured there might be dowel pin or similar.

So doing some simple math- for those of us who own a frame, it's around $1k to buy the conversion parts/kit from you plus the air motor costs?

Now days because of lack of helpers on the wheel I use the hammer (been self supporting) for 95% of the time, not only that but the hammer is easier on my arms, shoulders, and knees,. The finish on the panel is the same so why struggle
