Default Filler metal?

I want to finish the weldseams on some headers, maybe even get them chromed, but the seam acts like it has shrunk. I've never finished headers before and I'm surprised at what I see, I tig'd the tubing together and they were properly alinged, when I ground the proud I am left with what appears to be a shrunken seam. Did i do something wrong? the metal is 16ga and I welded it quicketc, I didn't linger or get it overly hot.
I'm thinking of filling it with siliconbronze, will it shrink again?
Is there a better filler I should use?

Why don't you just Mig the pipes. Gal coated exhaust tube never Tigs nice, because of the coating. The exhaust tube we have here doesn't anyway. The coating leaves a layer of smut which seems to undercut your weld.......Not the same as Tigging Stainless tube, that's for sure.

OJ, got a pipe expander, one of the tapered kinds? I'd try to expand/flare out the very end of where the welds will go on both pieces so the little bit of shrinking that takes place will bring it back to flush, or give you a bit of extra diameter to grind down to flush.. Would be some trial and error to get it right, but should help... With the vibrations those will see I think I'd rather keep the joint a weld over a braze..

I had problems with my old computer - Windows XP - and it wouldn't communicate with my camera. I just got this new computer and this is my 'roadtest' but the camera communication thing still isn't right, I may have to send the camera off for new software. I think my old computer picked up a bug and passed it into the camera.
Anyway, I was able to get a couple pics loaded. I've been using silicon bronze rod to fill the problem areas and I've a lot to figure out but I think I'm on the right track. Heres 2 pics of the tubes I'm working on, I think one more pass will get them acceptable.
The 3rd pic is the other side, I wanted to develop technique before going further on it. What I am showing is the fit, this is the same fit as the tubes in the first set of pics. That is a shadow, not a gap, in that 1st tube.
