Default New from Wichita KS

My name is Ray, i have worked in the Aerospace Industry for 30yrs building private and commercial jets. Currently not very hands on in a QA role.
My reason for the interest in this group is that i recently purchased 2 Erco 1447 Machines. Both Shrinker and Stretcher. I came looking for information on how to use these and start creating on my own. Always wanted to build a shop and now starting to do so. Cant wait to dig in and learn as much as i can and meet a few new friends at the same time.

Hi Ray,

Welcome aboard from a neighbor down the road in Andover. Like you I spent my career in aircraft, in many phases of it. Lucky you to be able to acquire the Erco's. And good luck on the shop build.

Hello. Born in Wichita, raised in Andover. I am not familiar with that brand though. Welcome!

Hi Ray,
Welcome to the forum.
ERCO machines are good to have. Have rebuilt a number of them. We rework the jaws and also sell a few new parts.

Glad to help you with your 1447.
(I've made some sheetmetal parts for B, LM, H-B ...)

Welcome. I’m in Montreal but have made many trips to ICT for flight testing airplanes built in Canada. I have many friends there. Always stop at Harbour Freight and the Yard Store! Sometimes I meet friends to fly at Benton or Newton. There are a lot of airplane and car restoration people there. I like Wichita even though it is so flat you can watch your dog run away for 3 days! 😜 People are very friendly.
