New Year's Tool Exchange
After looking at the level of interest from the previous thread's poll we've decided to move forward with the tool exchange. It's getting a bit tight for Christmas delivery so we're calling it a New Year's tool exchange.
DETAILS: Deadline for entry is December 15th at 6am CST. We will attempt to have the matches posted by the 19th. To ENTER, you MUST answer this thread with your location and what regional shipping requirement. They shipping preferences are: 1- Own Country 2- Own Region (North America, Europe, Down Under, etc) 3- International WE MUST HAVE THIS INFORMATION or you will not be included in the drawing. We hope that everyone will get their tool by the first week in January. Here is the program: The way this would work is that everyone that wants to participate MAKES a tool (must be made by you..at least partially, not purchased)….something metal shaping related worth $20-50 or more. Two or more smaller things can be combined if desired. It could be anything, a slapper, dolly, hammer, whatever...something you made that has to do with working metal. Participants would have their name matched to another participant when we do the drawing. The poll told us that some folks are interested in their own country, others in their own region, and others anywhere. What we are going to do is manually match folks up with people. That way we SHOULD be able to match everyone. However, there is a possibility that some folks we won't be able to match and they won't be obligated to send anything and, obviously, won't get anything either. We'll publish a list of names and who they need to send their tool to. They will PM the prrson and obtain shipping addresses, and then ship their shop made tool to the other person paying the shipping on the tool they made. Due to the number of location issues we may end up three way draw where 1 would ship to 2, 2 would ship to 3, and 3 would ship to 1. We hope that everyone will post a photo and note of the tool they received. We (AllMetalShaping) can't be responsible if someone doesn't follow through and don't want to see anyone get bashed on the site so you should be aware that the gift you send might be worth more than what you may receive...just like what happens under the Christmas tree at the office Christmas party. Or it's possible you may never get a return gift but I'd hate to think that would happen. But it's better to give than to receive and all that....right? Seriously, we'd hope that everyone who signs up is totally committed to following through. If you aren't sure you can follow through with your end of the exchange then please don't sign up.
