Default Chucklz

My name is Chuck I have no metal working experience. I attended a metal shaping seminar in Oak Grove, Missouri at Speedsters. I asked Jim Huseby if I needed a certain level of skill. His reply was I just needed to be curious. I am. Since then I have been filing and sanding the hammers and dollies I had borrowed. Slowly working each tool with a file then sanding them by hand. I know it would have been easier to just hit them with a DA but I like the feel of shaping it with my hands.

I am getting ready to make my shrinking puck. I have collected several end pieces of rough hewn white oak planking. I will make it from them. I hope to get direction from the forum. From there I will start on mallets from old ball bats.
