Found some picture of the Gull wing door hardtop for this AC cobra.
My friend Vince (the Master Craftsman) and me (the student) building this hardtop for his Kit Cobra In Sri Lanka. He made the brass hinges too. Here is also a video he posted on youtube. I was driving with one hand. The door had no locks installed enjoy... http://youtu.be/IyNzylqpz-c

wow. pretty cool! any pictures or information on the shaping process? what did you find the hardest about this and how did you work through it? I really like the zagato style roof bubbles. was this styled after an existing cobra roof or a fresh design?
and lastly... was this in SC?

It was done in Sri Lanka, By that guy in the picture Vince, the design is fresh from his brain, built with Aerodynamics in mind to keep the rear planted at speed. As the other style top he felt produced a lot of lift on the rear of the car at speed, also the double bubble was done to make it clear the helmet of the taller drivers that fit in this car, and last but not least to give it that great front view, kinda like the Viper as well. To the question of build challenges, There is something very very Unique about Vince. He is Dyslexic which allows him to see in 3D in his head and (as a scientist i recently cut some trees for explained, like most great chess player) has what's called Algorithmic Thinking. Which allows him to think "while working" many many steps ahead. So I never saw him stop to think about what to do or how to do it. I am sure though the 25+ years experience in the metal shaping field, 9 of which were in the Aircraft Industry helps to. It took 4 maybe 5 hammers, 2 dollies, one English wheel, the bead bag in the picture, a eckold shrinker/stretcher, a few pieces of this fiber material for tight detail work, and a couple of slappers and a few other tools to build it. I will get some more pictures of this build and his 250 GTO Ferrari he is starting on. It is to cool. Thanks everybody

I enjoyed learning from him, he made everything so easy to understand and retain. Just by the way he would say it, like "If it starts right it ends right".
He would ask things like "can you see it in your head", because he said if you can see it in your head then you can build it. He also was a fan of Henry Ford with the old KISS Keep It Simple Stupid. because one of the biggest problems in building something is Over Building It. Also Colin Chapman with "don't build me a bracket for one thing, build it for three things. You can see his thoughts in a lot of Vince's work. He also said "Fitting is for purpose" you don't put a 100,000 dollar Engine in an Escort that's stupid. Or a 10,000 dollar intake on a car for only 4 more horsepower that's dumb. I so agree. He said the metal was a viscus liquid and he could see where it was going and all you needed to do was put the right amount of metal in the right places and you could build it. Also cutting the metal Blank to the outside shape of the piece you were about to make. would make the metal want to be the shape you were making it. LOL I know it sounds funny, It still sounds funny to me after all this time but it works. because the outside edge of the part holds the shape of what ever is in side the edge of the panel. I have never seen anybody build a car or anything with the thought, precision, and culmination of so many great things in one. With out ever having made a list, used a computer, made a drawing, or looked at the way some one else did it. But he some how does it. I had a great time learning from him. I still try to pick his brain every second I get him on the phone, he's just a super nice guy and I just wanted to share some of his knowledge since he lives in Sri Lanka and may never come back to the UK or the US to live and I don't want his knowledge to die with him. I have been working with people with difficulties with reading and writing and many of them are extremely good to "see" the hole picture in a 3D mode.
