Default California fire

Does anyone know if John Forbes and his place at Santa Cruz are OK? That's where the Santa Cruz metal meet has been held. The Bonny Doon fire is just below his place.

John is a retired local Fireman. Station on the corner and son is a paramedic. I think his chances are better than most but that's no reason not to be careful.

My friends place is also in the Santa Cruz mountains and as of this morning is OK ,
one thing he said is that much of the fire is on the ground and needs ground crews to put it out and keep a lookout for hotspots poping up later ,

copter water drops help , but since the redwoods are so tall not much of the water gets to the ground ,

I hope John and his place is OK

Default John’s place

I do not have any direct information.

However using the fire maps, his property is within the fire lines.

Hoping for the best...

Talked to my buddy this morning , the fire is about 1 mile from his house out in the redwoods ,
Good news is the fog has come back in all the way into San Jose area , so that gives the firefighters a chance ,

but the fire on the forest floor is still there , and will take weeks to put it out ,

Hopefully the weather stays cool and the winds stay calm.

Default That’s good news

Glad to hear that John’s is okay.

Another member here, Joe McGynn also lives up that way. Hoping his place is safe as well.
