Recent visit to Brooklands
I thought I would share with you a recent visit to Brooklands Museum and I found more than I was expecting. ( little off topic but I'm a cobra nut.)
For those who need a reminder Brooklands was the first purpose built race track in the world, finished in 1907 it was 2.75miles long and 100ft wide, with 1.25 miles of banking up to 29ft high it ceased being a racetrack in 1939. Due to its location and size through its life it has been a centre for flying schools, aircraft manufacture, the bouncing bomb was developed here too. There is more detailed info at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brooklands for you if you wish. Brooklands is 20 mins drive from Heathrow. Generally it is now a transport museum, this is what I found. John Cobbs 24 ltr Napier Railton, a monster of a car 3 banks of 4 cylinders in the shape of a W. The W12 Just love the panel work on this car, although it is only 1 of probably 100 in the collection, most are on loan but the Napier was bought by the trust with UK lottery funding. 130” wheel base 60” track 600bhp more info here http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/car/5...n-Special.html Much more about the museum can be found here. http://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/ suggest you take a look at the 360 deg tour (motor village No. 8 is of the Napier ) Then my walk through a Wellington Bomber We then walked up the side of the test hill 350 ft long starting 1 in 8 2nd third 1 in 5 and 1 in 4 at the top , this took us to a foot bridge over the track. To top my day we stopped at a restored building that had a couple of AC cars outside, on looking through the window I saw part production of Cobra bodies. Still drooling after a couple of weeks If you open up the link - go to Gallery down 2/3ds to Building progress April 2010 open that up and see several images of the original hammer forms used by AC. http://www.accars.co.uk/ Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Hi Frank,
I take it you are referring to AC Cars, if so click the link and then contact us, drop Steve Gray an email, I did just that before posting the link here. Very quick positive response. Come back if I can help further.
