Default 1926 Model T Speedster

Alright guys, It's been a long time coming and I haven't posted anything in quite some time, but we have a fair amount of progress on my Model T Speedster. My grandfather has been steadily working away at the sheet metal and wooden body structure. We've gotten a lot done from the fire wall back, and it's looking really good. We finished enough of the sheet metal to where we needed to make the final wooden structure, so Grandaddy started with the firewall and worked his way backwards. Right now he's working on the rear door posts, trying to iron out how the wood is gonna be where the frame gets cut and dropped.

Throughout this project, we've been picking out cool little parts and things that we think make the car cool and unique. We picked up a dash out of a 1927 Essex, and modified it to fit the wooden structure. We thought it was cool because of all the subtle engraving in the gauge cluster. Another thing we picked up was a sheet of machine turned aluminum from FPM metals. We thought it would make a neat firewall.

Anyway, I just wanted to give you guys an update as to where we are with the car right now.

Thanks, Daniel

It's good to see progress on the speedster. I have often wondered what was happening. Looks GREAT.

Looks great- the Essex dash insert is a nice touch. Very cool to see a family project like this one.

Thanks guys. I can't take credit for any of the metal work though. I'm not quite that talented. Unfortunately, we only get a few days a month to work on it, but I will do my best to keep the thread updated.

Thanks again, Daniel

Get in all the time you can with you Dad & Grandfather. Few folks have the opportunity to be around such talented gentlemen. They are both well respected for not only their talent but their integrity as well.
