Thank you for all the positive comments and feedback. I'm glad everyone is enjoying the project, the fabrication I'm doing as well as the direction this project is headed!
Since I last posted I did a bit more "dialing in" of all the small panels that I shaped up. Once they were good enough I did the final trim, fit, etc. and have them all tacked into position. I'm going to hold off welding all this up until I get the driver's side caught up. This way I can verify and mirror all my measurements, splices etc. from side to side. Before I jump right onto the driver's side I wanted to take some time and strip, glass blast and clean more of the car and remaining panels (before I wait too long and it's cold and snowy outside!!!) I'm not currently doing any work on the doors and fenders....just getting them cleaned and ready for when the time comes. So with the stripping and cleaning, duplicating the work on the driver's side as well as taking some time to clean and organize our shop for an upcoming open house celebrating our shop's 50th anniversary I probably won't be posting much in regards to updates for a short while. All the panels and pieces above the body line have been trimmed, fit and tacked into position. The actual lip and the portion behind the rear wheel opening / below the body line was yet to be fit in this picture. A view from the front looking back A view from the back looking to the front An overall side view Here's the passenger front fender....just starting to scrape out all the thick original undercoating. It all scraped out very nicely! The fender is in very good condition. Though there are some rust spots along the back edge under the brace. I plan to re-design how the fenders are mounted here so it's not a huge problem really. One full scoop shovel full of undercoating from just that fender! Did a quick strip, glass blast, and cleaning of the door and fender. I haven't done any work or repairs to these panels yet and don't plan to for a while. I just wanted to get them cleaned up so I didn't have to deal with it outside once the snow comes (hopefully a ways off yet!!) 3/4 view from the rear 3/4 view from the front Not project related and not trying to advertise anything. But I thought I'd share the little flyer I made up for our upcoming open house. I'm pretty proud of my parents for making this a lasting business. 50 years and more to come!!! (I certainly haven't been around for all of those!) As I think I mentioned in one of my other build threads. The shop was mostly collision repair with restorations, customs, etc. being a side task for a majority of those 50 years. We will never get away from being a collision shop since we have multi generation customers because of our small community.....but as the years go by we are transitioning and favoring our custom work more and more.

This particular customer we’ve done other projects for, so we have a really good / fun working relationship already. He likes to be very involved and updated so I do share these same pictures (and more) with him. There’s obviously some behind the scene stuff, thinking / planning and tossing ideas around that are just between him and myself.

So glad you reshaped the rear wheel openings to match the front. It looks great and it's the coolest type of major modification; most people will not even know that it didn't look like that originally. It looks like they belong there. Actually, I think the original wheel opening shape looked like it didn't even belong on that car. Well done, Dane.
