That makes me feel a whole lot better My buddy who has got into this metal working malarky is heavly into his Austin 7s, He has to make a couple of rear fenders so I was able to sugest to him to do just as you did with your second set of fenders, bolt the top section to the body and weld or at least tack them together on the car...

Our mishaps could save hours of labour for our compatriots...
