Steeling-out '34 Ford doors.
I have a '34 Ford 4 door sedan in for power window install, bear claw latches install and steel out the doors, which are wood framed
Theo Mainline 163a.jpg The question is, do Detroit built '34 Fords have all steel doors, or do they have wood frames.

The 5 window coupe and sedans had steel. You must have a 3 window coupe. They had lots of wood.

The 33 3-window coupe I had didn't have much wood in the doors. It had wood framing edges but just the perimeter. It's not a 34 I know but thought maybe it'd help. It had more or less full steel inner skins with only a few holes.

Lone Star,Only the OZ built cars had wood . Ford had been building steel body cars for all other countries for years before that. Oz's tarif laws are the reason. In fact nearly all OZ built fords before WW2 had a little square badge on the cowl saying "Coachbuilt Ford Australia" .
It seems a shame to remove such good looking wood though. I would only have ever steeled out a door which had been white anted . A panel mimicking the USA inner panel seems a good way to head to mount the power window motor. |

Wow, not only did we get all the undesirable grandad cars, we got them with wood frames when everyone else got all steel bodies.
Grant, thanks for the image, those doors must be half the weight of the '34 doors.
