Default Rear mudguards for station wagons.

Rear mudguards for station wagons.
Should I make 2 rear fenders for the renovation of a station wagon from 1956?
I will try to show the procedure. So far I have been looking for a shape. Finally, I united the shapes in the individual sections to the same radius.
That was also the case with the original fenders. Today they are rusty and trampled during disassembly. I want to make them a little deeper. The guys will install them in the car as deep as needed. They will have enough space for it.
I made the spatial template common to both fenders.

Jaro,

Are those threaded standoffs plastic or metal?

Marc, those are plastic legs for furniture. I bought the cheapest ones I saw. Just so that the template does not rest on the ribs.
For the side that will bend, the legs are unscrewed.

I completed the arch today. I used rusty metal scraps. A line for cutting out the inner part is drawn according to this arc.
I marked the edges with welding wire and will cut them to the exact shape tomorrow.

Invention is a combination of brains and materials.
The more brains you use, the less materials you need.

Thanks guys, I finished the template and the sheet metal cutout shape last night. Hopefully today I will get around to shaping in sheet metal.

I would make holes in the wood to observe if the sheet already adheres to the template.

Thanks guys. I show a detailed procedure for easier shaping to other colleagues. It's not that easy to get the metal to listen to you.
Witold, you're right, you can't see the ribs. I would have to adjust it somehow.
The wood holds its shape well and the ribs were nicely installed into it. Unfortunately, it now bothers me when looking at the shape. I don't know, maybe will some kind of compromise strikes me.
I am rebuilding the workshop and many things are out of place. In the evening I tried to shape the first piece. It is a good idea to add an auxiliary profile when shaping. This detail will help a lot. I have to bend it a little in the shape of the two extreme ribs.
It's not in shape yet, but I'm close.

Looking good Jaro!

Have you done the shaping on the wheel?

Cheers Charlie
