Default Erco 476

I am about to disassemble my Erco 476. It has developed a rod knock which can not be ignored.
I am looking at the main pivot pin going through the top of the casting. It has holes drilled at the end of the pin on the left side to accommodate a spanner. I made a spanner but the pin does not budge in either direction. Any thoughts. Has someone taken their machine apart?
I am sure that I will be machining new pins and bushings for all pivot points. I will keep a record for those who will need the info in the future.

Rick, I can't offer any help at all. I understand TCE now owns ERCO. Perhaps you can contact Fay Butler and get the contact info. Perhaps they have some info in their archives.

I'm only aware of two other 476's but I'm sure there are more. Stan Lobitz in PA has one as does Brent Click in SC. I'm pretty sure neither has been apart.

Perhaps this story will be relevant. I once helped a neighbor work on his WWII vintage Axleson lathe. We were trying to get the control handle shaft off and even though we had removed the set screw, it would not budge. I was ready to apply some FORCE but my friend wanted to study it a bit. Turned out that the set screw we removed was a LOCKING screw and there was another screw below it. Once that was removed the handle shaft.

Kent White was repairing one recently and was also asking similar questions. The thread is here

Maybe worth contacting him to see what information he picked up.
