Posting YouTube videos to AllMetalShaping.com
Posting YouTube videos on AllMetalShaping.com is a little bit different than allmetalshaping.forumsdot.com (our old forum). The VBulletin software works a bit differently. For now, there is no button for the YouTube tag (I'll fix that as soon as possible), so the code has to be manually inserted.
The code is simply [ youtube ], without the spaces. The tag MUST be closed with [ /youtube ]! And away we go................. Navigate to the YouTube page that contains the video you wish to link to: youtube000.jpg Highlight the video identifier used by YouTube (usually the letters at the end of the URL in the address bar) as shown below, not the complete URL, and right click to copy it: youtube001.jpg Type in the YouTube BBcode as shown below: youtube002.jpg Right click after the BBcode and choose Paste from the drop down menu; youtube003.jpg The resulting text will look similar to this: youtube005.jpg Then, type in the closing tag ( [ /youtube ] ) And then, all you have to do is submit your post....or finish typing your message and then hit submit. youtube007.jpg If the video you wish to post is part of a YouTube "Channel", you can not just copy the text at the end. The text you want to copy is between the "=" and the "&". The rest of the steps are the same: youtube008.jpg To post multiple videos, just add the tags and video identifier on the next line: youtube010.jpg Your finished post should look something like this: youtube009.jpg If there are any questions, problems or issues, let me know and I'll do what I can to help you out. There is now an icon for posting video clips from YouTube, it's a small film reel:
Just paste your video code (i.e. 9LUsCHbFXPk), highlight it and click the icon. The code is then wrapped around your video tag and you're ready to go! Tim D. |
