Ray,
Have you got a link to the picture, looks like the XJ13, possibly being rebuilt after the crash.

Pulled it outside again. Still trying to get the front fender into some kind of shape I like. Made the grill vent larger. Changed the curve on top. Still needs some more shape. Panels will be used to make patterns and then scraped. Give me lots of practice..................RayName: 007 (10).jpg

Default Designing a Sixties style sports car.

I love what you are doing here and I know that sports cars and tall people don't mix.I,m 6'2"" tall and don't fit in many cars, so I had some time engineering my car so I could get in, get out and drive with a helmut on.This car has had 5 or 6 face lifts so far.A line here a fender there a few hoods ect.Funny how it looks good in the shop and how it can change when its out.Keep up the good work, they tell me that some day I will finish this car. Can't wait to see yours come together.

Hi Ray

Congratulations on what you have accomplished on your project!

I like the idea of the rebody of a factory designed and proven platform.

I'm not an artist or a designer, and don't take this wrong, but it looks to me that the top line of the front fender arches up too high from the front of the door forward to the top of the headlight. this makes the fender look too bulky and the transition to the hood area rather drastic.

I like the the swoop on the top line of the fenders and the door but the flow to the hood and trunk from the fenders looks to sharp to me.

This is your project make it the way you want it!!!!!!!!!

Just my opinion, I'm not saying your design is wrong or bad

Steve

I have struggled with this problem since day one. Much of the design problem I think is the fire wall windshield height. It is one elevation that dictates my swoop. Also taking a coke bottle chassie/body to a slabside makes my fenders/doors kinda fatty. I will get it ..............I hope

Hy Ray. I hope I'm helping? I see where your journey is taking you having being there myself.I think some of your front fender awkardness look might be that the line from the door to the fender looks forced . I know you were looking for a Scarab look but your donor won't allow it.You might look at some pis's of a Masserati 450S, or a little car called a Skadoa 1100 OHC 1957

With your flat sides and all you are very close to these lines now anyways.
I hope I'm helping.
Thanks John
