I think it has to do with the way the data propagates. The name servers are continually passing info in all directions. This is new, this is new, verifying this, this is new, . . . It starts out from the top, some goes left, some goes right and branches downward, one server talking to the next. sometimes the word from the left gets thru to a server at 10AM that Allthismess.com is now xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx instead of yyy.yyy, yyy, yyy and then another server that hasn't heard the news yet passes on it's own old incorrect version of the latest news it dates it 10:30 AM and trumps the correction. Name servers work in cycles, going out to look for the latest news on a schedule which varies depending on who set it up. If they have the wrong data, you get the wrong address. For a while, my dialup connection had a nameserver that updated constantly and my broadband connection only did it a couple times a day. You just get handed an old phone book and look up the wrong number. |

Steve, there may be a cookie issue going on.....but I can't do much about it right now. There are a couple of people having issues access the site (DNS propogation thingamajig) and they are using an alternate access point - I can't change the cookies back without locking them out. Once the DNS info hits "for real", I'll be able to put the cookies back and the pics will magically appear once more.
The issue arises because some folks go to allmetalshaping.com and some go to www.allmetalshaping.com. I was planning to fix that this time around, but it might be too late now............even though I might have an idea or two on that too! Might have to wait a couple of weeks to do it though. I'm guilty of often forgoing the www. thing myself. Tim D. |
