More progress on the Bugatti build has been slowed by other project by both Jim and I, but we got together and went to the Front Row Motorsports warehouse and picked up some of the machinery that they have outlived because the new bodies are being supplied to them in sections now and minimal fab work is being required these days. These items are needed to make the hood for both the Bugatti that Jim is restoring and the prototype Bugatti build.Once again, Mike Yurko was a giant help in helping get this equipment loaded and making arrangements for the sale. Jimmy Matthews went with us and helped load the tooling and the equipment. Mike gave us another tour of the shop. They are getting the first class Ford motors next year and Ford had supplied additional superspeedway and road course cars for them. One of the photos shows the templates used to hang the body on the chassis as it sits on the surface plate. When going thru one of the car haulers, a discussion with one of the crew chiefs made me question the spring rates that are currently being used. I was foolish enough to question him about it and he showed them to me. I can't reveal the spring rates, but both those springs that I am holding can easily be installed on the same car at the same time on the same track. Whoda' figured? The short gentleman in the blue sweatshirt is 'Shorty' one of the truck drivers for junior Johnson and the guy in the tan tee shirt is Kenny Trout, who is an honest to goodness Kentucky Colonel and was Harry Hydes right hand man on the #71 winged Dodge that was driven to the NASCAR National Championship in 1970 by Bobbie Issacs.

What is that machine being loaded Will? That a turntable idea where different tooling can be rotated into place?

Invention is a combination of brains and materials.
The more brains you use, the less materials you need.

Hi Will, good to be on the ground floor with that amount of tooling, I know all about the piercing turret presses but what's the blue square frame 5th from the bottom, some sort of wash off rig? Regards to Jim.

I forgot to mention that we stopped by Jimmy Matthews shop and took a look at his 4ft x 4ft PlasmCam CNC cutter. We have been leveling the frame and building the computer and plasma cutter 'cart' while Jay Matthews is working on the programming setup.

Nice! I might have some work for that machine.

Stopped by Jims shop on the way home from Dan's meet and we worked on the gas tanks for the Bugatti.

Buck was made to form the outer skin of the tank.

Cass has always been very good to me, and on a visit a couple of years back, he caught me eyeing this design of his and graciously gave me the can of the leftover parts from his build and instructions on how to complete it and make it work. Thanks, Cass!
