Got the two all welded together...
Roughed out the metal finishing... Tuned down the flange for the transmission tunnel with that linear stretching die I made... Cut in to existing upper piece, not plannished yet. As I gain experience and confidence I will attempt to use less pieces. I'm already thinking about starting over...but must press on if I ever want to finish this car. Halfway testfit... Still plenty of work to go, but here it is as of now... |

Looks real nice Jordan!
The only thing I would change is the bottom opening for your distributer. I would have put a tapper on it. They way you made it, flat, it will hold water when you wash it, or collet dirt.

Originally I had planned on it that way, but I couldn't get my little brain wrapped around the procedure. I never even thought about water or dirt. Damn.

Cool project that floor board was insane. There is a lot of work channeling the body. What you step it up 7 in the rear 4 in the front? Not much room in the trunk lol, where you putting the gas tank?
Here is the one we have been working on. Found it in a farmers field might have been easier to have built one from scratch.

ohh that thing is tasty! I love its style! My channel is somewhere in that 5"/7" range. The trunk is nearly non existent. "Not enough room for a hat box" as my father would say. There is a nice little vertical space where I will show horn the tank in.

Still working on that damn firewall. I'm guessing I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 60-70 hours in it already. Even though I used the stock firewall as my template, it still turned out a little fat on one side. Dont ask me how that happened. Trimming the fat...
I decided that the firewall was just too plain so I added a few bead rolls, matching the interior theme. Then I spent a few more hours filling holes and finishing off the flanges... |
