How I do it... I'm not to good at it but this is basically how I was shown. Keep in mind this was done in like 5 minutes. I wasn't being careful or accurate.
Scribe your tip line. Try to scribe it the same distance as the diameter of the wire. I like these notched tools for doing curved edges. Then I go over it with a sharpie. Now tip it. This is two passes, that's all it takes really. I made this dolly from a piece of 1/8th inch and a heavy round bar for a handle. Tap the edge of the metal over this dolly till you're well past 90 degrees. You can go to 180 if the diameter matches the thickness of the dolly. I also bumped it in the shrinker to flatten it out beings it was tipped on a curve, it bowed a bit. Clamp your wire in at one end and start rolling the edge around it. Don't try and go all the way, you'll close it in the last part. All you want now is to get it locked in there. Repeat this in a few places till you have the wire locked down tight through the whole part. After that you can lay the whole edge down without the aid of the clamp. Lastly, take a cross peen and tighten the last little bit up. This is the hardest part of the process to me, trying to avoid marring.... as you can see. There ya go. The description takes longer than the process. It's pretty simple but gets aggravating at times on tight turns and crowns.

Sorry to resurrect an old post, but what kind of wire is used in this type of edge? I've been searching but coming up blank... the pictures look like TIG rod, is that right?
Should it be soft temper stainless so I don't have to worry about it rusting? Thanks, Ken

Here's a wire edge we did at Gatormeet, this little trick with a washer worked well to keep the wire tucked in nice and snug. Another option discussed was to use the roller found on a screen cording installation tool. While we didn't have one, the notch in the roller of this tool may work better to insure the washer doesn't slip off the wire.
