Electro Discharge Machining, Google it and learn more. This is not a subject for this site.

It stands for electrical discharge machine. Basically a hole is cut into the workpiece (metal) and the wire, .010 in this case is fed through the hole off a spool onto another spool. The shape is programmed into the machine (cnc) and the wire runs thru the piece cutting it into that shape that has been programmed into it buy the current that is flowing thru the wire, actually eroding the metal. The one used on these parts has a 16'' capacity and was done submerged in water as this extends the life of the wire. This probably isn't a very accurate answer but in a nutshell thats it. I'm sure you could understand it better by looking it up , it's probably on the net somewhere if you know where to look, everything else is. I hope this helped. I always picture it as one of those old 8 mm projectors with the tape doing the cutting. Mark

Default beadroller

I'm working on the same kind of thing. I have a HF roller and had a 1/2 die built for a style line on a 32 roadster. I hope to roll half at a time because of the tapered line down the body.. It works the roller hard and you have to have room to flip the panel to come back down. You can see a test roll in this pix. Ray

Default roller pic

Here is what i have. I run it through both ways and then I have a narrow anvil wheel that i use to raise the center of the bead because it tends to end up a little flat. Ray
