35 Ford Truck Door skins
In progress, but started on them over the weekend...
I gotta make two lower skins for a 35 ford truck. Here's where im at so far. Perimeter buck made with captured sweep info rough skin wheeled up machining belt line dies test run.. still needs tuning here.. before I did a test run, i scribed lines 6" apart. after running i noticed they drew around .125 closer... this was the amount of pre stretch I put in after. close door hinge detail. stamped as of last night... still some work to do, and i gotta make the opposite door.

Nice work! out of curiosity why did you go for male+female press tools rather than just a female and use a urethane pad? Do the dies you made coin at the end of travel?

Thanks everybody for the kind words.
I have a CNC mill is the main reason. I can CAD/CAM and send it away and walk back in an hour. The dies I made are designed with .035" clearance all around.

Really nice clean work. You're using 20 gauge?

Nice work. Did you weld the upper and lower dies to square shanks or put them in setscrew type holders so you could move the pressure point by moving profiles fwd/aft in the machine?
