For me the important thing is the alignment and finish of the anvil wheels. No slop in the cradles for the upper or lower and they don't move sideways relative to each other when you crank up the pressure. When the upper wheel is hardened and polished your panel comes out looking like Chrome. When your wheels are round with no runout you get a great finish - not waves or ripples. I made my own frame and got wheels from Hoosier profiles. Very happy with it. I tried cheaper anvils and threw them away.

I only do relatively thin aluminum and my wheel is a 4" by 4" by 1/4" tube, so no issues with rigidity.
