I didn't get any photos today but I did get the trailer unloaded and the roadster in the shop. It's supposed to rain tomorrow but if it's clear enough I'll get some photos. I'll try and get some good photos of the windshield posts and the bits I took off. I'd like to know what it's from. I REALLY like the way they fit and look, exactly what was in my head. I haven't decided if I'm going with straight glass or V Butt at a slight angle.

Got it outside for some photos from a distance today. I am very, VERY pleased with how it's shaping up. I figure I'm about half way through with the build.

The grill opening has been cut pretty close to the final shape. There is about a 1/2" mark around the opening that will become the tip line.

Still thinking on it but I'm considering a piece of chrome that runs through the 2" wide channel on the hood. Once it gets to the nose it would start tapering to maybe 1" when it goes into the grill opening and finally end up pretty small at the bottom of the grill. Individual grill bars would come up from the bottom and curve out a bit at the top to draw attention to the flow of the hood.

I've been agonyizing over the side vents for a year but Robert Kolenda came up with what I believe will be the perfect solution. Couldn't implement in Oblong because the firewall needs to be recessed but basically we'll cut the top, bottom, and FRONT only of the marked lines. Then the FRONT will be pushed into the engine compartment about 3". The increasing gaps at the top and bottom will be filled with a nice smooth transition. The open spot at the front will have a wire mesh and inside the vent, where the lines are, will be floating spears.

Here are a couple shots of the windshield frames.

Hi Kerry

you and your team have made great progress in the last few weeks. I like the body design, really flows together well. grille & headlights look like they belong there. the hood hinges fit with that era car design.

As for running boards I vote NO!

No running boards. Once the rocker panels are in place, it will look more finished......

Hi Steve, Thanks. We missed you in Oblong this year.

Kerry, those posts are definately MGB roadster or Healey. The Healey ones are flatter at the top as the screen is not so curved. The MGB ones have a slight curve in them to accomodate the top and bottom screen frames which are curved extruded alloy.

Ross.

Looks good Kerry, you must be please now that you have it all looking more symetrical. you are on the home run as far a body is concerned. I like the style you have got the lines nice and the proportiond are great. many cars especialy some kit cars dont look well proportioned but yours does, Ilike it!
