hi charger i've got a '56 with the hood being the only panel not messed with also. the chop has come out wicked on yours. hate being a copy cat but it has got to be done, question about the marking out you have gone up 6" in the front corners, from there did u measure up from the front lip of the hood to get a straight tape line. 6" at the front seems to be too low or did u just use a level from the side marks. cheers

Thanks for the compliments, as for the measurements i don`t remember what they were, i did a tech on this on the Hamb and fte it might be in there, what i did is measured from the back of the hood to the front, marked both sides equally, this measurement was used so when measuring up you would be equal on each side, the up measurement was from the side lip of the hood upwards

thanks for replying i know it's a old thread. i sliced the top off mine last nite ,had to reverse all the measurments from the centre as my hood is already welded to the fenders (full tilt front) & edge of hood line was to hard to find because welds have been already smoothed out previously . i'll keep u updated if ur keen, & post some pics when rewelded, cheers again
