Default Long time lurker's intro, Vancouver BC

Hello everyone,

You old timers will probably recognize me from the metal meet site. I hadn't posted too many times but did a few. Once the site crashed I never did re-register at least in part because I was happy coming here for info. The last half of 2010 life has gotten in the way and I haven't been working on my project much or even logging in here. I hope that will change in the New Year.

I have a 1955 Chevy BelAir 2dr hardtop. I started repairs by buying replacement panels but soon found you need to be a skilled metal shaper to make most of them fit properly.

I have David Gardiners DVD. After watching it a few times I was inspired to try capping a front fender. Although it's not perfect, I'm pleased with the result and hope to get even better at this. Thanks David, and thanks to all the posters here for all the info in your posts that has also helped.

I don't expect to do a lot of posting here unless it's to ask questions when I finally get around to metalshaping again. For me this is a hobby and will always be a hobby, so I tend to think there will always be someone more knowledgeable to answer questions. I don't feel I have much to share yet but if at some point I feel I can contribute I will. I really do enjoy this site even if it's as a "lurker".

Ernie

Ernie, welcome to the forum and thanks for the introduction. Glad to have you here as a member. Thanks for joining us. You have a great learning tool with David's DVD. Ask questions when you have them someone will try to help.

Welcome Ernie!
It is hard to keep it a hobbie. I seems like people come out of the woodwork, when they find out what you can do
